If recreational marijuana has become legal in your state and it's something you've never tried but you really want to, you may not be aware of the different kinds of marijuana. If you go to a marijuana dispensary, they will be able to help you figure out which kind you want to try, but having an idea of the basics will help you understand what the dispensary employees are talking about.

Indica

Indica sources originally came from India. The plants are usually short with a broad leaf, and look bushier than other types of marijuana. The leaves are the typical marijuana style, like the ones you may see on tshirts and such. Indicas are generally considered to be more sedating. That means that they are better to be used at night because they may help you to go sleep, which can make an indica a good idea for you to use if you have problems like insomnia. An indica strain may also help you to relax after a stressful day. These strains are the kind of strains that would be associated with the common idea of a stoner or marijuana user. You may feel dreamy or floaty when you use one of these strains, depending on what kind you use. The most common indica strain would be Kush in all its forms.

Sativa

Sativa's history starts in Europe and western Asia. The plants are generally tall with a narrow leaf. The plants look more stocky compared to indica plants. Sativa strains are generally thought to be more of an uplifting or hyping up effect. If you use one of these strains, then you may feel more creative, more "up", and even more social. If you have issues with social anxiety or social events, then a sativa may be the best thing for you. If you want to start your day off getting your smoke on, then a sativa may be the best choice for you. The dispensary employee you talk to may suggest a strain like Green Crack to help you get the results that you are looking for.

If you are interested in trying recreation marijuana, the best way to learn more about it is to go to a dispensary which can legally sell pot. They will have knowledgeable staff who can help you pick out the right class and correct strain for you to try. You may have to try more than one before you get the right thing, but there is a strain out there that will be perfect for you.
